Made a quick trip to the East coast back in May 2015 for a good friend's 35th birthday.

Not much was taken on the SLR, as I was attempting to go all analog and iPhone on this particular trip. It's a tricky balance, plainly put, juggling between all THREE cameras. Oi. AND walking here, there, everywhere - by the time we made it to our destination, I was all tuckered out! So yah, got lazy and ended up using the iPhone for most of the creative snaps, candid moments, and ninja shots.

Though - I am a bit miffed that I didn't take enough foodie pix! And missed out on a friend's rooftop Italian dinner party. Or never making it to Williamsburg to meet up a friend!

But there were many, many memorable moments. AirBnBing once again in our beloved East Village. Celebrating an ol' high school friend's birthday. Finally meeting an online acquaintance of 15 years - a real New Yorker, born and bred, with a flare for stories and an easy going disposition. This guy. It was like meeting up a long time buddy! Chatting it up in a pastry shop, chatting it up while he chauffeured us around on a rainy NYC day, chatting it up so much we didn't realize he sneakily bought us a boxful of pastries as a welcome gift right in front of us! (Also, how very Asian of you, Rich!) This friendship, it was meant to be. =)

We'll be back, NYC. Hopefully sooner than later!

Next up! The rest of the 2015 Travels! LA, Iceland, Italy, Holland!

Snippets of NYC 2014 shot with The Golden Half. By Jin Chu-Ferrer.

Heading to NYC later today.

14 more hours ...

This giddiness. It has me digging up our last NYC photog adventures back in late 2014.

More daydreaming. More game planning.

Then I stumbled across forgotten Golden Half lomo versions of that trip.

Light leaks. Happy surprises. Beautiful blurs.

So, so good.

Hoping to recreate that mindless trigger happiness this weekend.

That Golden Half. It's a badass lil sucker.

1:30a.

Gotta snooze it up.

See y'all in a New York minute!

First goal of 2015: catch up on all my photo projects of 2014! They're not much, though. The volume of photo work drastically dropped and the priorities shifted as the holidays came around. Rightfully so. But they're a minor nuisance, ya know? Like something in the back of your mind that won't go away. It's always there, sitting pretty and hidden. But still there. That, and 90% of the time it's the OCD in me to finish a project that I've started. Oi. Anyways, let's get on with it ...

So I had all these stories I oh-so fervently wanted to write about back in September when this trip actually happened. Meeting up with old friends (Mike, Talida, Tim), going on epic foodie adventures with them, exploring parts of town that may be possible residential set ups for us. But 4 months has gone by and I don't have the same fervor as when it was fresh on my mind. When I had just came back all bright-eyed and full of that big city motivation.

But I tell you this: this experience is wholly different from the last I was in NYC. Back in 2007. Now THAT was crazy epic. And it was exactly what you would think a New York minute would be. Spontaneous plans, happy surprises, unexpected adventures, multiple digressions (i.e. 4am train rides to an elusive White Castle in Queens - and constantly missing the stop! *shaking fists*), party after party after party. NO SLEEP. All crammed in one weekend.

Hurts so good.

Ah, the epitome of youth.

This time around things are more tamed. It seems life priorities has shifted for everyone in their 30's. Some of us are wanting to settle down, some got married, some starting a family, some already started a family but time management became a problem. Thus the reasons why we weren't able to see everyone we wanted to see in NYC! We grew up, man! But one thing stayed constant in NYC - the energetic, chasing dreams vibe.

And I'm oddly drawn to it.

See you soon, NYC ...

in between places.

brooklyn bridge sunrise.

So this happened 2 weeks ago.

Woke up at 5a, hauled ass from East Village to Brooklyn Bridge (Brooklyn-side), and set up (photog) shop as fast as we could when the fist hints of the night time sky started to fade into colors. The perfect sunrise locale with perfect sunrise hues and perfect sunrise weather.

And I've been dreaming of that perfect moment ever since.

Le sigh.

Can't wait to start editing the NYC snaps. As y'all have noticed this past year (or 5!) that I kinda have a time management problem.

Still. Can't seem to discipline myself into a schedule. It's just not my thayng. (Couldn't really pinpoint why until I took this test - now it ALL makes sense!) But first thing's first. Gotta get through the last round of Eurotrip edits. (A month overdue, admittedly. I know, I know - for shame!) Then on to the final rounds of photoshoots and trips and holidays to close out 2014. It's times like these that it sure would be nice if those photos edit themselves! More eating, less editing. Now that's an ideal Holiday 2014 (and 2015!) situation!

it's been awhile, new york!

so this is happening.

Seems this photo blog will be more of a travel blog for the next few months. Gots a few mini trips planned for each month before 2015 rolls around the corner.

First up for the Fall season: NYC.

For those who have been persistent about us getting back to NYC - Yaasssss! It's finally happening! Hopefully this is just the beginning of something epic. We plan on keeping NYC as a regular in the near future. ;-)  See y'all on the East Coast!
